Hello, I'm Keith Gillis, and I am the 6th grade history teacher at the middle school. Time goes fast as I'm in my 12th year of teaching here at Carmichaels Area. Prior to becoming the 6th grade history teacher I taught in the 6th, 5th, and 3rd grades at the elementary center. Before that I worked in the Ringgold School District, and subbed in many other area districts. 

History is an ever changing subject, an with that in mind the methods I use to present it to my students changes as well. I incorporate several learning strategies to my presentations so that my students interest is peaked and captured. We create interactive notebooks, and various projects that allow for the students to demonstrate their knowledge of the concepts and develop problem solving skills, researching methods, thinking strategies and various other skills that help shape and prepare them for the future.
