About Me

Welcome! I am the 6th Grade Math teacher here at Carmichaels Middle School. I was hired at Carmichaels in 2014. My first year at Carmichaels I taught 5th Grade and then moved to the Middle School to teach 6th grade when they renovated the school. I have traveled near and far for my passion in teaching and found a great home here at Carmichaels.

Prior to teaching at Carmichaels, I held several long-term substitute positions at McKeesport and Canon McMillan. I then moved to Florida to pursue teaching as my career. I taught 6th-grade mathematics at Lancaster Elementary in Orlando, Fl. These travels showed me many different ways of life and enhanced my understanding of students and the diversity they can have. It enhanced my love of teaching and was able to diversify my teaching methods as well. I am continuing to try and enhance my teaching method's as I continue with my master's degree at California University of Pennsylvania.

If you were walking down the hall you may hear some noise coming out of my room. This is because I try to actively engage my students into what they are learning day in and day out. You may see students floating from student activity center to student activity center in my blended classroom or they may be working on technology to do a student driven task that allows them to differentiate from each other. One of my goals in my classroom is to allow the students to have a comfortable environment while at the same time they are working to complete short term and long term goals. I know that I assess myself each day and have a never settling approach to my teaching style.

I love to work with technology and am always striving to use the newest and best technology to help my students succeed in multiple ways within my classroom.

I bring a positive nature to my teaching because I can't see the students be positive without a positive outlook from their presenter. I truly enjoy helping bring a beneficial impact on my students and their outlook on learning.
